Regional legislation is underway. The goals: enhancement of the territory and hospitality. Ready for the “Wine Routes”
Wine tourism in the Marche will be governed by regional legislation. The Legislative Assembly unanimously approved the law that provides wine operators with innovative opportunities to implement an activity, wine tourism, with many facets and with positive effects on corporate income. Starting with the enhancement of territories and productions, hospitality, which combines the culture of wine with its production area.
“It is a law much awaited by the Marche wine world“, declared, in his speech in the Chamber, the vice president Mirco Carloni, councilor for agriculture. The Marche region, he pointed out, “is a mature and important wine sector. We have a territorial differential that must be bridged, characterized by a fragmentation and excessive fragility in some parts. We want to solve, with this law, all those problems by focusing on diversification to create added value and guarantee different sources of income for entrepreneurs”.
Carloni stressed that “to avoid the depopulation of rural areas, a significant economic return is needed that agriculture is able to confer above all in inland areas. We are approving a law of strategic value which intends to create a strong identity between the territory and the agricultural product. Our strength to boast 20 denominations and a wine indication is also our weakness, because the plurality of certifications has divided the effort to create a unitary identity marketing. The richness in diversity has weakened our image”.
The path to be taken, then, outlined by the new regional law, is to “create Wine Routes, those experiential paths also recognized by the European Commission as a cultural fact. Therefore, there is a need for a synergy between institutions and entrepreneurs, which encourages the cultural predisposition, on the part of farmers, to welcome them in agricultural structures. From today this law will give the possibility to welcome and administer in the cellars and, above all, we will define a concrete strategy to synthesize all the values at stake that distinguish the various territories. We will create itineraries dedicated to our vines, so that the cellars can become a destination for experiential and emotional tourism“.
The Marches boast an extremely lively wine sector which is highly representative of the production area. Wine tourism is, therefore, able to greatly amplify the characteristics of excellence of the wines and their reference areas. The law promotes integrated planning between the sectors of agriculture, tourism and commerce. A joint effort that will engage the public administrators and entrepreneurs to enhance the territory by making a “network”. It will be possible to define wine tourism itineraries among the naturalistic, cultural, artisanal and industrial excellences of the Marche, starting from the internal areas and small villages, to focus on the seasonal adjustment of tourist flows.
